Rizzo

Being on a budget at the time I bought the boxed set, I wanted a Sorcerer but first, the metal one looked ... well, how do I put this.... crappy? and second, I could make one out of the plastics I had to make my own customized rat fink!!

(If you've seen my other page, you know how I do this, first your list then how I did it. I'm gona go into detail for this one, but I hope to keep it breif so I can take up less space.)

Stuff you'll need:
Name:                                    Price:         Part Code:
*Mordheim Skaven Sprue         $9              99381102002
*Skaven Sprue                         $5              99380206001
*Mordheim Acc. Sprue             $4              99391199001
*Skeleton Sprue                       $5              99380207001
Total: $23
(*Usually indicates it was in my bitz box already, but could also mean optional in some other cases.)

This skaven was meant to use spells, I wanted him to look good. Most of the stuff is in the boxed set, which is not too much (I got it on sale for $45, or you can do like I was gonna, split it with a friend, that way you can play with them AND get the set!). When I knew I was goning to play skaven I immediatly got the Warhammer Skaven Sprue, that way I could make henchmen whenevr I need! However, as I looked at it it had one flaw: all the feet parrallel with the sprue on mine were smooth1 Eerrgh, a misprint.. at first I thoght of getting another sprue, but then I thought to make the best out of the situation.

So I began converting. I always glue the feet first to the base. after the glur dried, I got some green stuff (REAl high tech modeling term for putty that one side of yello mixed with the other blue side makes a pliable hardening putty) and made a boot on the bad foot. The big toe was the only good thing, so I left it sticking out. I sculpted to putty with my fingers to get a rough shape, then smoothed it with my knife. I put in a few scratches and tears, this is a skaven, you know?

I then used the cloacked body from the set and made a hood from green stuff, using the same method I did in the boot. I made kind of a triangle and had one end fatter tha the other to make it look open. I took the open hand from the Mordheim skaven sprue and cut about halfway through the inside elbow. I then used a little more green stuff to make the arm straighter. I used a tiny bit on the open inside elbow, smothed it out and poked it with my tweers to make it look like fur.

For the second hand, I used the hand of a skaven from the warhammer sprue with a spear, the one that is really holding it up and almost thrusting. I cut the tip off and glued the triangle shield on from the Mordheim sprue. I then glued the rat skull from the W.H. sprue on to the shield. I used the spiral horns on the sides with a little green stuff to hold them, and then the curved horns to make a horned rat staff. Finally, I used a little bit of green stuff to maek sleeves on both arms and glued them on when they were done drying.

You may ask why he has an open hand, well I forgot this up there, and I'll just fit it in here. Ue the book from the acc. sprue to make an open book in the skaven's hand. I'm going to use the book to show it''s level, for example level one is w and level two is v ,Level three is gand so on. I used the head that looked the most intelligent (for a skaven, that is) and made him look up, as if casting something or praying or something archaic.

For a couple of substittutions, you can use a sheild in the shape of a triangle made out of balsa. You can try to use the new witch hunter preist book, but the metal will off set the plastic.

Veskit, Executioner of Clan Eshin

I was a little disapointed by the GW Veskit. He didn't seem to be Skaven-like to me and didn't fit the picture in the back of the book all too well. So I decided to make my own! Here's how I did it....

Stuff you'll need:
Name:                                    Price:         Part Code:
*Mordheim Skaven Sprue         $9              99381102002
Skaven Sprue                           $5              99380206001
*Mordheim Acc. Sprue             $4              99391199001
**Various Technological Bitz     ?                Look in Bitz Box

*Found in Boxed Set
** I used pieces of a plastic gun from a Necromunda Goliath,an old Skeleton Chariot Sprue, and a piece of brass rod but whatever you have from WH40K and Plasticard will do nicely.

Take a feet piece from the Skaven Sprue and saw halfway through the left leg (Skaven's P.O.V.) and glue the leg so it is at an angle.. This should be just enough to make him look like he's running. Use a Body from the Mord Skavie sprue to make his metallic body armor and glue this parrallel to his right leg.

Almost any unhelemeted head from the Skaven Sprue will do nicely for Veskit. Use a pin vice to  make a small hole in the head's right eye. Get the acc. Sprue and saw off the front of the handgun on it and trim it just a bit and glue it to the right side of the head's face. You have now finished Veskit's Unblinking Eye.

For veskit's claws you need to cut off the hand of the throwing knife hand of the Mord Skaven sprue with the one that looks like a small dagger. Take the arm and make a flat surface where the hand will be glued. Cut off the hand from the right fighting claw and glue it to the arm, this is easier if you have not glued the arm on yet. I made it facing up a bit to really give the character a dynamic feel. For the Warplock pistol, I just used a human gun and cut off the back end and glued it between the two claws. This was reapted on the left claw arm which I left as is.

Glue the arm with the right claw to the right shoulder, and the other accordingly. I made him look like he's slashing, but it's up to you what he does. Glue the head to the body, and be sure he's looking horizontally or it ruins the running effect.

That's about it! That's the main body. Now you get to play mad scientist with those tech bits and make him look really mechanized. After all the details, I went back with a little green stuff and made a strap to his Unblinking Eye and ropes to his claws to keep everything on. Like with Rizzo, I had to make a shoe because the foot was messed up. Pics up as soon as I get time!

Z'Hara the Scorpian
Stuff you'll need:
Name:                                    Price:         Part Code:
Cultist 3 w/ Sword                   4.75           010203606
Slannesh Fiend Right Claw       2.00           020101908
Chaos Spawn Tail 5                 1.00           020104916

Okay dokie. This is pretty easy compared to the other projects I have using Metal minis, so here you go in 5 easy steps:
1.Cut autopistol hand off of cultist
2.Cut claw from Fiend arm.
3.Glue claw to cultist arm, using green stuff to model more rags on wrist.
4. Use pin vise to drill a smal hole equal to the end of the tail near the butt.
5. Glue scorpian tail to mutant's ass.

The End Results

Kryspy, Arch Magister
Stuff you'll need:
Name:                                    Price:         Part Code:
Chaos Marine Sorcerer Body3   4.50         010201307
Abaddon Head                         2.00         010202602
Master Ravenwing Book          1.00          010119606
*Zombie Hand                            ?                ?
*Already in Bitz Box

Now, I can hear some of the more expirenced convertionists say "Whoa, a converstion whith Abaddon the Despoiler without using his sword!" Yes, just his head. People use his sword too much for anything Chaotic.

Enough of that schute. I really wanted to make this look like me a bit and have hair I could manage. Everthing came from WH 40K because WH doesn't make what I was looking for.

First I cut (or in this case, had to hack) off the Chaos Sorcerer's head. I would have like to save it, but my primative whacking with many implements did not allow that. While on cutting, and hopefully you have a hand drill with cutter/sander pieces like I do you should do this all at once. Cut off Abaddon's topknot, save that cool hairdoo, and file down all 40K peices. Their should be a plasma polt pistol holster in the socerer's back, some tech bits on his staff and little annoying terminator uplinks on Abaddon's head.

Now you have that done, take some green stuff and model in a hood and a shoulder cover. I can't reall say what hey are, just look at some Cawdor Necromunda models and you'll get the idea. I took the time to make some hair, too. I postioned the head to look down to his left where the book would go.

For the book, I needed an open hand so I used the hand from the zombie standard top. I glued this to the placce the sorcerer usually holds his pistol. I then glued the Master of the Ravenwing book on top of that. Originally he was going to have a sword in one hand and the book on top of the staff, but I thought against it. After all in real life you can fight and parry with a staff, right?

Here I am!

The Possessed

Stuff you'll need:
Name:                                    Price:         Part Code:
Flamer body 4                         $2.00         020101208
Spiky bits from orc sprue          ????            ?????
Genstealer Arm                        ????            ?????
Brass wire                               ????            ?????
Green stuff                              ????            ?????
High elf sheild                         $1.00
Cool looking bits                      ????            ?????

Has it been so long since I updated? Well, I plumb forgot with school and I haven't played in a while. Must get my friend over soon and kick his ass.... Anyways, I didn't like the possessed models for the range (I'm picky, aren't I?) so I decided to make my own (Surprise!). As I may have said before, my warband worships Khorne/Tzeentch and since I get two possessed choices, I thought one would be lanky and thin and the other muscular and dog like. The flamer body was a good place to start ou with. I picked the one screeching, because it would make an impact on the veiwer more. I Took the brass wire and used a pin vice to glue it to the large base, then I glued the ends to the body. Some green stuff over them and a orc knife and two spikes make the chicken feet things. I should have done one differently, but that's my problem.  I took a left over genestealer arm form my bitz box (five fingered one) and cut it into three parts: the hand, elbow and shoulder. I glued the shoulder to the body to find it fit nicely, I then used a peice of brass wire and pin vice to pin the shoulder to the elbow. I then used another peice of wire and pinvicing AGAIN to pin the elbow to the hand, finally filling in the rest with greenstuff. The result is an elongated genestealer arm that looks vaguely human. The right arm is to make it look like the cult used metal in the making of this thing, and to make a bigger arm. I cut the end of the shield to make a shape like this
      ___
     \     /
      ----
I used an orc spear for the mid arm and face the spearhead so it would be the elbow. I then used orc swords and knives (OK, SoI bought alotta orcs!?!? OK!?!?! OK!?!?) to make fingers. One broad one for the thumb and descending sizes for three othe fingers. I cut them so they would look like his hand is opening a bit. I then pinned the spear to the body and but green stuff over it. To make it look a little more human I got some wire I could wrap into a ring and make a necklace. I loaded it with things from the zombie sprue, like a skull, hand and bell. There ya go. Hopefull I can scan my minis and get them up. I mean that. Really....
